- Marie was 18 months old when her grand parents bought her home to the farm at Piri Piri Dannevirke where they bought her up until Grandad died and Ardie & Roley went overseas to the war & Phillis got Married. There was a time when she boarded in Cole Street Dannevirke until Ardie and Sally were married and had a home in Neptune Street Dannevirke where she lived until after the war when she went to Wanganui aged 16 years, and lived with her father and Rita his second wife until she married Clive Head.
